Grid Integration of Renewables

• As the penetration of converter-based energy-generating resources (wind, solar, etc) increases, huge challenges to all sections of the power system including planning, operation, control, etc.

• This study aims to carry out the feasibility study of interconnecting converter-based resources to the AC networks for the different network strength (Short circuit ratio) scenarios under various operating conditions.

• Feasibility study of grid-connected renewable energy sources is required to ensure compliance with the grid code.

What are the Studies for Grid Integration of Renewables?

The following studies can be carried out for the interconnection of renewable energy sources (wind, solar, etc) with the grid.

• Network fault scenarios and fault ride-through (FRT) behavior

• Dynamic studies: Frequency, voltage, and phase angle steps

• AC short circuit studies with different network strengths (short circuit ratio)
