Profile Summary

I am an Experienced Power System Consultant/Engineer/Researcher. I completed PhD in Electrical Power Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India in 2019. I completed Masters in Power System Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, India in 2012 and Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2010.

I served as Senior Research Specialist at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, New York, United States. I served as Senior Postdoc Researcher at FER, University of Zagreb, Croatia. I served as Principal Engineer at KNR Engineers & Consultants, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. I worked as Project Engineer Network Studies at Siemens Energy, Erlangen, Germany. Presently I work as Lead Engineer HVDC Studies at GE Grid Solutions, Dresden, Germany. I have teaching experience in electrical power engineering courses in various organizations. I published many articles in various international journals and conferences.

I have strong interest and solid experience in power system modeling (steady-state & transients), HVDC (LCC, VSC, Point-to-Point & Multi-terminal) modeling & studies, AC/DC network design studies, wind turbines & farms, grid integration of renewables, load flow (power flow), dynamic performance, short circuit, & transient studies, transformer & line/cable switching transient studies, insulation coordination studies, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, MATLAB/Simulink, DIgSILENT PowerFactory & ETAP. Also, I am experienced with AC/DC microgrids, grid forming/following converters, Inverter-based sources, Distributed energy resources, FACTS, SVC & STATCOM, Power quality, harmonics & filter design, rotor angle, voltage and frequency stability studies, motor starting & power factor correction studies, protection (relay) coordination & reclosing studies, grid codes, IEEE/IEC/CIGRE standards.
